Privacy Policy

The short version

This website is run by Maui Lani Community Association for its own residents. We collect only what we need to operate the association, we do not run ads or analytics trackers, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.

What we collect

• Account details you give us when you request portal access: your name, email address, phone number, and street address.
• Things you submit through the portal: requests, design review applications, appeals, event suggestions, and any photos you attach.
• Association records tied to your property, such as violation notices, fines, and board decisions. These exist whether or not you use this site.
• Basic access logs (IP address, browser type, and pages visited) kept for security and auditing.

What we never do

• No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
• No selling, renting, or trading your information.
• No marketing lists. We contact you about association business only.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in to the portal. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Where your information lives

Your information is stored on infrastructure managed for the association, not on a big-tech data platform. Site traffic passes through Cloudflare for security and delivery. Dues payments happen on our management company's own site (Hawaiiana), and their privacy policy applies there.

Who can see it

Board members and office staff can see the records they need to run the association. Other residents never see your file, your submissions, or your contact details unless you choose to share something publicly, like a gallery photo. We disclose information outside the association only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Association records such as violations, fines, meeting minutes, and decisions are retained as required by our governing documents and Hawaii law. Security and access logs are pruned on a regular schedule.

The mobile app

Our resident mobile app uses the same account and the same data described above, with no additional tracking. If you turn on push notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver them; turning notifications off removes it.

Your choices

You can view and update your contact details any time in your portal account. If you want your account closed, contact the office and we will disable it and remove your personal contact details. Records the association is required to keep, such as violation and fine history, stay attached to the property rather than to you.
